The evening pattern across Europe is mixed rather than uniform. Amsterdam sits near 16°C under a partly sunny but changeable sky, Warsaw is around 21°C with calmer conditions, Dublin is close to 16°C with clouds and passing showers, Oslo reports rain near 13°C, while Athens stays much milder at around 23°C with mainly clear weather.
Overnight, the more unsettled belt stretches from parts of western and central Europe into the Alpine region. Showers remain possible in places, and low cloud or mist can form in valleys and sheltered lowlands. Western and northern areas keep a cooler feel, while the south-east stays comparatively stable.
Thursday keeps the contrast alive
On Thursday, central Europe remains the most variable zone, with a mix of clouds, sunny breaks and local showers. The Alpine countries still have to watch passing rain and local convective development. Farther north-west, Ireland and the North Sea sector stay breezy and rather cool.
Southern and south-eastern Europe will generally fare better. Greece stays warm with plenty of sunshine, while parts of the central Mediterranean remain mild to warm despite increasing local instability closer to northern Italy.
No single Europe-wide weather story
The most important takeaway is the ongoing contrast: cooler, more unsettled weather in parts of the centre and north-west, versus warmer and calmer conditions in the south-east. Travellers crossing several countries should therefore avoid broad assumptions and instead follow local forecasts, especially where showers or thunderstorms are still in play.
