Europe splits between late-summer warmth and northern rain
Saturday afternoon brings a broad late-summer pattern across central and southern Europe. Madrid reaches around 30°C, Lisbon about 27°C, Rome around 25°C and Milan near 22°C. Central Europe is cooler but largely settled, with many capitals between 18 and 22°C.
Northern Europe is noticeably cooler. Helsinki and Stockholm stay near 14 to 15°C with rain at times, while Oslo is closer to 16°C. The British Isles and the Low Countries sit mostly in the 18 to 20°C range with varying cloud cover. Southeastern Europe is mixed, with rain affecting Greece while Istanbul remains milder around 26°C.
Overnight into Sunday, temperatures fall sharply inland across central Europe, commonly into single digits or the low teens, while Mediterranean coasts stay much milder. Fog can form locally in sheltered valleys and basins under light winds.
Sunday keeps the main contrast intact: warm and mostly dry across large parts of western, central and southern Europe, while northern sectors remain cooler and more changeable. No single continent-wide storm system dominates the period; regional differences are the main weather story through Sunday evening.
