Late summer fights back: Europe splits between 28°C sunshine and Atlantic rain

Sunday evening stays mild across large parts of central and southern Europe, while Atlantic air is already bringing more cloud and some rain into the British Isles and western fringes of the continent.

Monday: warm heart of Europe, unsettled west

Representative city forecasts show the contrast clearly: London is near 19°C with a risk of an afternoon shower, Paris around 24°C, Berlin near 24°C, Vienna around 25°C and Rome close to 28°C. Central Europe therefore remains warm, while Atlantic influence is stronger farther west.

France is the main transition zone, with thunderstorms forecast from Nouvelle-Aquitaine toward northern France. Germany stays mostly dry and warm, Austria remains largely sunny, and Italy continues under broad high pressure.

🌍 Europe at a glance

  • London: around 19 °C, with a possible afternoon shower.
  • Paris and Berlin: around 24 °C.
  • Vienna: around 25 °C; Rome: around 28 °C.
  • Main change: Atlantic rain and storms press into western Europe.

No continent-wide storm, but a clear weather divide

There is no single severe-weather pattern affecting all of Europe. Instead, the key story through Monday evening is the contrast between unsettled Atlantic weather in the west and lingering late-summer warmth from central Europe into the Mediterranean.
