Europe splits in two: late-summer warmth in the south and centre, Atlantic showers in the west

Europe starts Monday with a clear weather divide. High pressure keeps large parts of central and southern Europe settled, while Atlantic influence is more noticeable across the British Isles and the far west.

Morning temperatures range from single figures in parts of northern and central Europe to the mid-teens around the Mediterranean. By afternoon, many central European cities reach the low to mid-20s, while Rome climbs to around 28 °C.

Central Europe stays warm and dry

Zurich is forecast near 27 °C, Berlin around 24 °C and Vienna around 25 °C. Fog is locally possible early in the day, especially in valleys and low-lying areas, before sunshine becomes dominant.

🌍 Europe at a glance

  • Central Europe: mostly dry, sunny and 24-27 °C in many lowland areas.
  • Italy: widespread sunshine, Rome around 28 °C.
  • France: warm but cloudier; local thunderstorm vigilance around Paris.
  • United Kingdom: mostly fine for many areas, but showers linger in northwest Scotland and London can see an isolated shower.
  • Mediterranean regions remain warmer than northern Europe through the afternoon.

Atlantic west: more cloud and showers

Across the United Kingdom, the Met Office expects a fine and dry day for many areas after early mist and fog, but blustery showers continue in northwest Scotland. London remains cloudier with a small risk of an afternoon shower and a high near 19 °C.

South remains summery

Southern Europe keeps the warmest air. Rome is near 28 °C, Lisbon around 26 °C and Rhodes around 26 °C. Sunshine dominates large parts of the Mediterranean.
