Sunday evening into Monday brings a pronounced temperature contrast across western and central Europe. Cooler air spreads across Germany, Austria and parts of the Alpine region, while high pressure maintains much warmer conditions across France and the western Mediterranean.
Germany: 7 to 15°C overnight, mostly 16 to 21°C Monday
Northern Germany remains windy and showery, with storm-force gusts still possible on exposed North Sea and Baltic coasts. In the lowlands, overnight lows are mostly 7 to 15°C. Monday highs range from around 16°C on the coast to 20 or 21°C in parts of the south-west.
Austria: showers in the mountains, 15 to 24°C
Austria starts Monday with 7 to 15°C. Residual showers affect parts of the mountains, while sunshine becomes more frequent elsewhere. Afternoon highs range from 15 to 24°C, with a brisk west to north-westerly wind in the north and east.
Switzerland: cooler than Sunday
Switzerland cools overnight to roughly 8 to 14°C in many lowland areas. Monday reaches mostly 18 to 22°C north of the Alps, with somewhat milder conditions in western and southern lowlands.
France and Italy stay warmer
France remains widely sunny: Monday ranges from about 22°C in Lille and 24°C in Paris to 27°C in Lyon and 31°C in Bordeaux. Italy becomes more settled, with many lowland areas reaching 24 to 28°C, while Alpine valleys and the eastern Ionian side stay cooler.
