Early temperatures across central Europe range from single digits in sheltered Alpine valleys to the mid-teens near the North Sea and Mediterranean coasts. By afternoon, western Germany, eastern France and parts of Italy reach the upper 20s, locally around 30 °C.
Cloudier and cooler weather persists toward northern Germany, Denmark and parts of Scandinavia. France sees a more unsettled western edge, while much of Italy and the Alpine region remain largely dry under higher pressure.
Wind is generally light to moderate across central Europe, but local showers or thunderstorms can produce temporary stronger gusts. The Alps remain mild for late September, with freezing levels high enough that widespread snowfall is not expected.
The main practical contrast is temperature: mornings can feel distinctly autumnal inland, while afternoons in the west and south still feel almost summery.
