Friday starts with a broad temperature contrast across Europe. Central European lowlands are mostly in the 9 to 16 °C range early in the day, while Mediterranean coasts often remain between 16 and 20 °C. Alpine valleys are cooler, especially where skies briefly clear overnight.
During the afternoon, much of France, Austria and Italy enjoys mild conditions. Northern France and Germany generally reach around 18 to 24 °C, eastern Austria locally around 24 to 25 °C, and central and southern Italy often 25 to 29 °C. The Alps remain cooler, with cloud and local showers in some sectors.
The main synoptic trend is an improvement behind the front that crossed Germany, while Mediterranean high pressure still supports warm weather farther south. More unsettled conditions remain near the Atlantic fringe and locally across mountain regions, but there is no single Europe-wide severe-weather setup.
Travel conditions are broadly favourable, though wet roads and low cloud remain possible in parts of the Alps and where the departing front leaves residual showers.
