Scope and controller

This notice applies to WeatherToni International at https://weathertoni.com/, part of the Toni weather publishing network. The controller responsible for processing personal data is:

Antonio Spitaleri (SchneeToni)
Hauptstrasse 41
8762 Schwanden, Switzerland
Email: kontakt@schneetoni.ch

This notice concerns the website identified above. If you follow links to central SchneeToni accounts, Alpha Weather, subscriptions or payment facilities, the central SchneeToni privacy notice also applies to those services when used.

Technical data, security and hosting

When you visit the site, technical connection information may be processed, including your IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and device details, response codes, and security or error events. This is necessary to deliver content, maintain availability, investigate failures and protect against misuse.

The central Toni/SchneeToni platform uses Infomaniak in Switzerland for hosting and email infrastructure. Site features may also use the shared WordPress multisite environment and central weather services. Technical logs are retained for as long as needed for operations, security or incident resolution, subject to applicable legal retention obligations.

Weather searches and device location

When you search for a place or request weather information, we process the location name and parameters required to respond. The portals use shared Toni components and Alpha Weather. Depending on the function, external mapping, geodata or weather services may receive technical and geographic parameters necessary to complete your request. Provider categories used by the central services are described in the SchneeToni policy.

Access to your device’s precise location, when offered, requires an intentional action and permission in your browser or operating system. You can withdraw that permission in your device settings.

Contact and linked account services

If you contact us by email or through a contact feature, we use the information you provide to respond and carry out any necessary follow-up. Sign-in may take place on this portal or, through a link, on a central SchneeToni service. We process the credentials and technical session and security details needed for access. Where central account, subscription or payment services are used, the SchneeToni privacy notice also applies.

Cookies, analytics, advertising and consent

Essential cookies and similar browser storage may be used for site security, sessions and remembering your privacy choices. Optional audience measurement and advertising technologies are distinct from the functions needed to operate the site.

Google Analytics 4 is provided for audience measurement, and Google AdSense is configured for advertising on eligible editorial pages. Whether any particular page actually sends analytics data or serves ads depends on the relevant site settings, Google approval and applicable consent preferences. Google and participating advertising partners may process cookies or similar identifiers, IP addresses, page views and ad interactions to deliver and measure advertising and, where allowed, to personalise ads. Learn more at How Google uses information from partner sites and apps.

For personalised Google ads shown to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google requires a certified consent management platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). You can manage cookie and advertising choices using the privacy or consent controls made available on the site, including withdrawing consent for future use.

Recipients and international transfers

As necessary for the purposes described, information may be shared with hosting and email providers, technical infrastructure services, weather or mapping data providers and, where active on the page, analytics and advertising providers such as Google. International service infrastructure may involve processing outside Switzerland or the EEA. Applicable safeguards can include adequacy decisions and, where required, appropriate contractual protections. You may request further details of recipients relevant to your enquiry using the controller’s contact address.

Purposes, legal bases and retention

We use information to deliver and secure the weather website, answer enquiries, provide requested features and, where legally permitted, measure and fund our services. Where the GDPR applies, the basis for processing depends on the activity and may be performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests in secure operation, or consent where required. Swiss data protection law may also apply.

Information is held only for as long as necessary for its purpose, security, support or legal duties. Contact messages are removed after the enquiry and any applicable evidence requirements have ended. The central Alpha Weather policy documents a rolling maximum of 90 days for its internal weather-search analytics. Technical logs, consent records and services provided by Google can have differing retention criteria depending on the processing operation. Further service-specific limits for central accounts and weather features are explained in the SchneeToni privacy notice.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction or erasure of your personal information, restriction of processing and, where available, data portability. You may object to certain processing and withdraw consent for future processing. Statutory retention duties and permitted restrictions continue to apply. Contact kontakt@schneetoni.ch. Where the GDPR applies, you may also complain to the appropriate supervisory authority; in Switzerland the competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

Security and changes

We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security. We update this notice when our processing practices, providers or legal obligations change materially. Last updated: 13 October 2026. The version published on this site is the applicable version.
